NYSC To Reopen Yobe Camp 5 Years After Shut Down

The National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) is set to reopen its orientation camp in Yobe State five years after it was shut down due to activities of the Boko Haram insurgents.

This was disclosed by the Yobe State NYSC coordinator, Mr. Jauro David, when he visited the emir of Fika and chairman of council of chiefs, Dr. Muhammadu Ibn Abali Muhammadu Idrissa, at his palace in Potiskum, Yobe State.

According to him, this year’s 2016 NYSC would hold in the state because of the return of peace across the state. ”Let me tell you one thing, the issues of Boko Haram in the state is over. Hosting the corps members in Yobe would tell Nigerians that normalcy has resumed.
”Hosting the corps members in Yobe would tell Nigerians that normalcy has resumed. Everything now is going, as usual, nothing will happen again in the state by God’s grace,” he added.

The coordinator, however, called on the state governor, Ibrahim Gaidam to renovate the NYSC Orientation Camp in Fika, which has been abandoned for five years due to the fear of massacre of corps members in the state by the terrorists and the activities of Boko Haram insurgents.
