Oshiomhole commissions industrial boreholes in Ihievbe

BENIN—GOVERNOR Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has commissioned two industrial boreholes and a water treatment plant in Ihievbe, Owan East Local Government Area of the state, saying that his administration had sunk hundreds of industrial boreholes across the state in line with the policy of the Millennium Development Goals that every human being, whether rich or poor, was entitled to potable water. Commissioning the boreholes, yesterday, Governor Oshiomhole said: “I congratulate our people from Ihievbe. This is one of the two industrial boreholes we have installed and the mini-water treatment plant. The whole idea is to ensure that if this borehole produces water, it doesn’t need to go through additional processes. “That is why the water treatment plant was also installed. So, the water you get from here will be better than the so-called pure water that people hawk about everywhere. “My hope, wish and prayer is that with the availability of this bore hole for the people of this part of Ihievbe, all those water-borne diseases and child labour with children subjected to going to the stream to fetch water, even sometimes competing for flood water with animals, will all become a thing of the past.”
